Home Remodeling Project Complete - Time for Duct Cleaning

The painters are gone, the floors and windows have been cleaned, last thing on the on the list; call the duct cleaning company.

Many of our customers are homeowners that have just completed a home remodeling project. They realize that the dust that at one point or another covered virtually everything, also was sucked into their duct work. The dust gets everywhere, and with the cold air return acting like a big vacuum cleaner, much of that dust, dirt and construction debris finds it's way into the air ducts.

What's in My Air Ducts?

What kind of dust, dirt and debris you ask? Well, we find sawdust, sheetrock dust, plastic, tape, nails, soda cans, you name it. We even found a boot! How it got there we can only imagine. Perhaps the latest "new hire" on the crew learned to not leave his boots laying around!

On more than one occasion we have found air ducts completely plugged with insulation, fast food bags and other construction debris. No matter what's in the ductwork, it was never designed for anything to be in them, period! For air to move through the house effectively, your air ducts need to be clean and free of anything that might restrict airflow.

Schedule Duct Cleaning

So, whether your main concern is heating and cooling efficiency or you just don't want that dust blowing around your house anymore, consider air duct cleaning as the final step in your home improvement project. If you live in the Twin Cities call 651-653-4704 or feel free to schedule online.

Twin Cities Duct Cleaning Prices

Air Duct Cleaning Costs Around the Minneapolis Metro Area

It is no secret that duct cleaning prices vary widely across the US and especially the Twin Cities. But who do you believe? Is it best to pay more and have your air ducts cleaned less frequently or is it better to spend less money and hire a duct cleaner on a regular basis? To answer this you might ask yourself; 'If I spend $450 - $1,000 to have a NADCA (National Air Duct Cleaners Association) certified duct cleaning company come out to thoroughly clean my air ducts, how long until I can afford to have them cleaned again?'.

It is important to understand that no matter what, your air ducts will get dirty again regardless of who cleans them and how clean they get.

So, if Company A charges $1,000 and your air ducts are perfectly cleaned, even though they will start getting dirty again as soon as the furnace or air conditioner kicks in again. Is that the best value for your money?

On the other hand if Company B (Twin Cities Air Duct Cleaning) can perform a $189 air duct cleaning service and clean your air ducts 90% as effective as company A, wouldn't that equate to about a 3 month difference? I know, it sounds like algebra 101 all over again doesn't it? Seriously though, being realistic, how clean can Company A clean the duct work in your home? And at what point will they have the same level of contaminants as when Company B finishes?

Let's use this duct cleaning example:

You spend $1,000 to clean your air ducts in say March. And your neighbors wait to clean their air ducts until let's say September and they spend $189. If your $1,000 cleaning is now as dirty as your neighbors who just had their ducts cleaned, you just spent $811 for 6 months of really clean ductwork! Do you see any logic in this??? Especially when the EPA has no real recommendations on air duct cleaning.

If you have been able to follow my line of thinking, and would like to get on the schedule for a good old fashioned Twin Cities Air Duct Cleaning, then give us a call: 651-653-4704. If you prefer you may also schedule air duct cleaning online.

Twin Cities Chimney Sweep | Chimney Cleaning Minneapolis, MN

Chimney Sweep & Liner Inspection

Price $99 Special $65*

Chimney will be bushed and cleaned in much the same manner as a fireplace chimney would be cleaned. We use steel brushes to sweep interior of walls, removing all debris by vacuuming with a truck mounted vacuum and using the high pressure air wand. Then, as needed and depending on age and type of fuel used, we will clean the drip tee and the vent connectors which connect your furnace and water heater to the main stack.

Why Hiring Two Chimney Sweeps is Better

With two technicians, one cleaning the chimney with the rotating steel brush and the other in the basement operating the vaccuum, the process is quick, thorough, efficient and CLEAN!!! We are very confident that, although we are working with soot, your home will be as clean or cleaner than when we arrived.

The housing unit will be removed and will be cleaned with a condensing cleaning solution from the inside out. Next we will clean the condenser coil, the fan motor blade, fan motor and a full debris removal. All components will be cleaned and inspected, and Freon levels checked.

Annual A/C Cleaning

Most experts agree, the money spent cleaning and maintaining an a/c unit, will easily be saved in the first month. A dirty condensor will cause your central a/c to run longer and work harder because it is not cooling itself down fast enough.

Twin Cities Air Duct Cleaning - Minneapolis, St. Paul

Air Duct Cleaning - "Push-Pull" Method

Regular $199.95 Special $99

  • Step 1 - Our technicians first attach a high powered vacuum to the main trunk line leading to your furnace.
  • Step 2. - Next, they go to each branch line and use a tool called an air-wand. The air-wand uses highly compressed air to push all the debris down to the main trunk-lines where the vacuum hose is creating negative-pressure to draw all debris to our van mounted equipment.
  • Step 3. - Once the technicians have completed the initial air sweep, they will go to the bottom of the furnace with a 25-ft rotary air-wand, also known as an air-snake, with a reverse nozzle. This creates a tornado effect in the ductwork removing all residue from the sides of the air ducts. This will pull any remaining dust and debris back to the vacuum. The vacuum is "pulling" while the air-wand is "pushing" and it does a very effective job on light dust, dirt and debris.
If it has been several years since your air ducts were cleaned, you might consider using the Rotary Brush Method (see below), and reserving the "Push-Pull" method for the next time, when your ductwork is not so dirty. Either way you choose, we clean all return lines and supply lines within your household.

Duct Cleaning - "Rotary Brush" Method

Price $249.95 Special $189

Our technicians use the same first two steps mentioned above, but once they have completed the initial air sweep, an item called a Rotary-Brush with a reverse nozzle will be used. It will be inserted into the trunk line where the brush will rotate inside the air ducts. This rotating brush "scrubs" the walls clean, removing anything that is stuck on, or otherwise attached to the walls of the air ducts.

Once the ductwork has been scrubbed clean, they continue on to step 3 using compressed air to pull the dust and debris that was removed from the side walls of the trunk lines and any other debris which might have been knocked loose with the rotary brush, back out to the vacuum using the step 4 mentioned above. We clean all return lines and supply lines within your household. Watch this short air duct cleaning video that explains the Rotary Brush Duct cleaning process.
